The Return
Freedom was the ripest of fruits, the greatest reward. She had worked hard for this, killed and fought and turned a little more beast than woman to get herself out of that hell hole. On her knees with wet sounding wheezes and soft laughter, the air out here is even better, the colours, the scents. It was overwhelming after that barren cage.
“I’ve outgrown you” hissed the beast that had clawed and crawled its way out of the crystalline box that lay harmlessly on the floor “You can no longer contain me, no one can.”
It rattled and closed, righting itself in response to her hissing, innocent. No wonder pandora opened it.
Free at last, now for the slow crawl back to humanity.
