How to Pick a Personal Monogram

Having your own monogram is a great way to express your personal style. From thank you cards and stationary to jewelry, home décor and handbags, there are numerous ways you can use your monogram to help express yourself. But, before you begin placing your initials on all of your favorite items, you must first design one.
There are many different colors, fonts and even ways you can present your monogram. Here’s how to choose.

1.    Know Your Options
We often see the traditional monogram as three letters, with the last name presented a bit larger in the middle of your first and middle initials. But, this isn’t your only option! In fact, you can choose to use just two letters, use your three initials in order, or even just use one letter—the choice is yours!
 2.    Stay True to Yourself
The very traditional monogram is actually a bit old fashioned: it includes the surname in the center and then the women’s first name and maiden name to the sides. A modern take on this tradition has switched out the maiden initial with the husband’s first initial. If you love these tried and true traditional monograms—go for it! But if you aren’t married or want something that is unique to you, don’t feel pressured to stick with tradition.
