upgrade
If you’ve noticed I haven’t updated my blog for a long time, it’s because I’ve been having a sort of personal breakdown of late. I’ve been blue and stressed out to the point of wanting to break my contract and just come home.
But, after a long discussion with KM on Sunday, I came to the conclusion that I should finish out the year here. Granted, I’m seriously unhappy with my job {hence my original desire to leave in March}, but I have one or two compelling reasons to remain here for the duration of my contract. And I really love being in Korea. ^^ So, I’m going to be in Incheon for the next ~9 months. Knowing this, that the deadline for my return home has been pushed back, I feel less pressure to achieve certain goals I had set for an earlier departure date. I will have more time to reach my anticipated savings amount, and will be able to learn more Korean in the ideal environment for doing so. After spending ~3 rather tricky months in this job, I’m turning over a new leaf. Rather than stress about work, and other things over which I clearly have little control, I am going to live smartly and adopt a brighter attitude. In short, I’m undertaking a personal upgrade. If all goes according to plan, I will leave Korea next year with a good amount saved and a clearer idea of what to do with my future. Best of all, when I get back, he will be there <3
