A Personal Request Relating to a Message I Received
I got an interesting message from someone who wishes to remain anonymous yesterday. I shall call this person H (no reference to their username, I can confirm they are not a troll however). They approached me as they thought I may offer an understanding ear.
H was upset in their message. They said that they absolutely adore Nic, think she is classy and fun, but that they are also insanely jealous of her.
H went on to say that they have always been quietly content with their life, have a relatively happy marriage and an unproblematic young child. However, recently they have started thinking that their life is chaotic, they never have anything organised and sometimes struggle with just the basics in life from day to day.
H thinks they may be neurodivergent. They said that they were standing in their bathroom yesterday after having a shower and they burst into tears. H said that they suddenly felt very ashamed that this was the first shower they had had in a week and they started thinking that Nic would never be like that. Nic seems to have life sorted, self care is important to her. H is embarrassed and thinks they are a failure as a human. They want to be like Nic and have their skincare, hair and style sorted and be able to function in their day to day life like a โnormalโ person. H even went as far to say that they wished their spouse was as wonderful as Luke seems to be.
I have assured H privately that they are doing ok. Everyone has different struggles and from my own experience it does sound like they may have ADHD (I am not a psychiatrist so this is not a diagnosis). We also do not really know anything about Nicโs life behind closed doors. She may be just as chaotic as the next person but she has the means to get people to help her out.
Please, if anyone could spare some words for H, that would be fab. I am sure that Hโs life is nothing to be ashamed of, my own life is far from being all sunbeams and rainbows. Life is what works for you, we should never compare ourselves to others as we are all different. Plus, appearances can be deceiving. And really, who would actually want all the grief that Luke and Nic have had to put up with this last year?
