It’s not often one gets the opportunity to duel with a Kentucky Derby winning filly. A “personal” favorite, Personal Ensign, however, received the chance twice, meeting champion Winning Colors in the Maskette Stakes and the Distaff, besting her in both. Winning by what the U.S. Racing Hall of Fame described as a “lip”, it is often hailed as the most exciting finish in Breeder’s Cup history. Personal Ensign retired following the Distaff as the first undefeated champion in American racing in over 80 years.
It's Songbird time
I had a feeling today.

I am rolling my eyes at the TVG commentary.
My Flag was put to sleep earlier today, 15 April 2014, due to foaling complications. The daughter of champions Easy Goer and Personal Ensign, bred/owned by Ogden Phipps and trained by Claude McGaughey III, raced 20 times, won 6, second 3, and third 4 times. Among her wins are the 1995 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, 1996 Bonnie Miss Stakes, Ashland Stakes, Coaching Club American Oaks, and the Gazelle Handicap. She turned 21 three weeks ago, on 25 March.
Rest In Peace, My Flag. I am so sorry to hear.
