Springing just doesnât bother me anymore!
(Yesterday I saw a red-haired doll for sale and I just started crying, imagining the child it would be for.)
Once youâve done something for long enough you just stop feeling it.
(My âPink-Haired-Boysâ folder is how big? Â Ooof.)
Itâs really just a matter of willpower. Â
(I want to love and be loved, I want to marry and I want to bear clean casteless children, is that so much to ask?  What else can I do in order to achieve that dream?  Also I want it now.  Actually, yesterday.   Whinnnnneeeeeee...)
And now the âSpringâ tags, which weâve had more or less to ourselves for a glorious season, will be once again filled with people going âItâll be over soon!!!â  Which isâŚthe worst. Â
"Sadly much less than I would like"?
I would love to be doing Mioleean things withâŚletâs say a photographer with a flawless sense of composition. Â
Or maybe a calm, intelligent doctor with nice hands. Â
Nah, Iâm a district girl at heart, a cousin who knows how gorgeous he is.
Sadly though, much less than I would like.
[red-for-death] how are badly springing people holding up during the permaspring? are there any people who would have preferred to never have been cleaned?
Iâm the wrong person to ask, I spring fairly lightly, and I donât want to ask people about their springs for the same reason I donât want go around saying âItâs soooo hot, isnât it? Arenât you just dying in this heat?â.  There are people I worry about, and I try to help keep an eye on them.
Theyâre trying to step up the mental health system, and thereâs that red tradition of mutual support, but the truth is weâd need a lot of help even without permaspring.Â
I donât know anyone who would rather not have been cleaned. Â I do know people who think of being cleaned and being kicked out as being different events and would rather the two not have come together. Â I do know people who want to transfer to Anitam once the systemâs in place.
I think itâs going to get better once the credit systemâs had some time to kick in. We hardly had any little ones with us when we moved.  Those last couple springs in Evalee were very empty.  So itâs probably worse now than itâs going to be in the future.  Weâre going to have lots of alloparenting agreements.  And weâre probably going to have babies through the whole year.  My cousin is saving, and as far as heâs concerned whenever they get it, they get it. Weird, but thatâs Miolee.
I am 100% fine now, but have just enough self-awareness to know that I will be an absolute wreck at the end of the season when all the people currently going âAHHHHH SPRINGâ on my dash switch to âAn end! We thought it would last forever but it never does!â
Changed my blog title because...I think Iâve been here long enough that it no longer applies. Itâs time for new people to be fresh off the boats! Past time.Â

I find it interesting (though not surprising) that "springfriend" as a term survives a seasonless environment!
I would love to riff on possible alternate terms-but i feel like if I stoped calling him âspringfriendâ I might be obliged to take him seriously and ughhhh. Â
Summer, what summer?
Iâve got some really great things planned for later this spring.Â
closer to 4 months later than 3, hollyhock-pavilion sends a link to where she's listed titles and abstracts and summarized the methods of all the artificial-season papers she could find, neatly organized and able to be sorted on a number of axes, including method, open access vs paywalled-to-accredited-institution vs I-can't-get-this-without-ILL, and 'possibly offensive/distressing language'. It's possible that by 'criminally understudied' she means 'not solved yet', there are a LOT of papers.

This is...a lot of papers. Beautifully organized. And so many. I am in awe, thank you!
It turns out there were some people already keeping records-lots of handy people nailing odd arrangements lights to the wall. They helped me set up this auto-dimming system that did nothing for my spring (as far as I can tell, but I spring mildly) but did actually get me to maintain a normal sleep schedule.  Â
 I will make sure this gets posted where people can find it. Â
