#perleswalkabout this morning was just a mile and a half. Shorting the moon as it played peekaboo with the sparse clouds. There’s not much else to see between 5-6. But the birds are in full song, the distant train as always sounds so mournful. Looking forward to springing forward this weekend. Home now. #perlesaerie My typical lazy Sunday is usually spent at home. Journaled after brief #perleswalkabout then put on the coffee and sipped it in the balcony while journaling. At 7, I tuned into the Today Show then CBS Sunday Morning. Worked on my ToDo list during commercials (heaven knows commercials are long enough to write a novel). Very few red check marks on my list. Just lost a lot of my get up n go since mom’s passing. Working on it. Turned the page on my kitchen calendar as I can see next month from todays date. A lot of events already inked in. The trees are heralding Spring and I am so ready to see the world in bloom again. #perlesjournal Ran over to The grocery @walmart to get the industrial @liquid_plumr as the kitchen drain is stubbornly refusing the more benign remedies. Sigh. And got a few Lean Cuisine and frozen veggies in case the sink stays clogged. And I guess I broke the Walmart Dress code. Three different ladies smiled and complemented me. But an older woman wearing her ‘let’s go Brandon’ Tshirt, Smiled and said, “You must be going out somewhere fancy from here. Totally overdressed for Walmart.’ Thank you but no. I’m in a sweaty tank top and shorts. But I keep several of what I call toppers by the door. I throw one on, get my hat and purse and I’m out the door. I feel good if I look good. The only time I wear T-shirts with writing is occasionally at 5 am when no one can see me walking. (#perleswalkabout) I just can’t do WM slob mode. I swear by that 3rd piece, that topper. It not only covers a multitude of overindulgently earned pounds, but it makes even my sweaty T and shorts outfit look presentable. Anyway. I got home and even w open windows and ceiling fans, it’s just plain hot in here. Crossed my fingers and turned on the A/C. And yay. #perleswalkabout Trying to get back into a steady routine. I’ve been remiss in my good habits since mom passed. So getting up and walking has been sporadic. But this makes 3 in a row gold star days. Only two miles, but should be back up to five by month’s end. For right now I’m driving to Caldwell Park on Highland and walking circles. It’s like a circuit. The four staircases, (my stairmasters) in varying sizes. Doing the short one only for now. The red brick sitting walls just outside The Virginia Samford Theater are for my standing push ups. The trees are all barren, but spring is coming. #perleswalkabout Still dark as I headed out this morning around 5:30. Sunrise wasn’t til 6:37 this morning. Last night’s rain is gone, but not the clouds. They’ll probably be with us all day, and the rain will begin again around 6 and most of the day tomorrow. I’d been slacking off since mom passed, but getting back on track. I always walked rain or shine, regardless of temperature. Joined the @alroker Facebook walking group Start Today and enjoying the posts there. Nice group. Guess I just needed accountability. And one fellow walker mentioned her gold star ⭐️ motivator. I remember from childhood the gold stars for brushing our teeth.
