Back to that "What if G2 had its own cartoon?" Thing
This is G2.5, a pocket dimension with very few relations to the generations before it (save G2), and none to those before it. No references to the next generations.
Was influenced by Vintage Valentine's Day cards and Savannah Alexandra's art for this. In this universe perfume puff ponies make a return (I think Morning Glory and Ivy would be perfume puffs).
I imagine it would be kinda formulaic? They battle monsters (plant monsters, the smooze, etc). Next episode they get closer to the source of a problem (a pony plagued by negativity. Things like pessimism, toxic positivity, etc) that's manifesting in some environmentally damaging way. That pony gets free and either gives them a new form or accompanies them on their journey. Finally you get a pony in some kind of evil form. They either retreat or change their ways or something like that. If the previous episode didn't have our protags getting the new form then, it happens after a big bad boss battle.
There is one other G1 char who makes return. Can't wait to show you them!
I recently got some nice metal combs (thanks to advice from this post) and started going through my pony shelf dusting and combing and generally making sure everyone looks their best. It didn't occur to me to take photos until I was about a quarter of the way through a perfume puff.
The last photo is me trying to part her hair with my finger. Perfume puffs have textured hair - if you can get a comb through without catching there's something wrong. But this pony's hair was clumped together in strips. It wasn't dirty, but I think I had tried to braid it at one point - it was parted down the middle between the rows of plugs.
I aimed for a more uniform fluffy texture. This involved a lot of patient hand detangling, parting, combing and recombing but I eventually ended up with this.
I think it's an improvement.
It’s My Little Monday! With...G1 My Little Pony Perfume Puff Lavender Lace! The perfume puff ponies are special, because they have this unusual type of hair. The real mystery, is what is it? No one actually knows what it is made of. Nothing else/no other toy used it. It is brushable--to a degree, yet it is sturdy. Its look can be imitated to a degree by combed yarn/but it’s texture cannot. (No it is not ‘hairdorable-doll material’) To style it, you need to do ‘finger styling’, which is what has been used here to create puffy twists, braids, and more. Only the forelock is the usual nylon hair. Her smell is AMAZING! It is a quiet, cozy smell that’s lightly floral and has a calming effect. The scent is precious. She’s pretty but, she’s not lavender? Well, she probably was some hue of purple-ish at some point but some of these PP ponies did not keep their color well over the years and she’s one of them. I army PPs, so if I found another in a different shade I would surely keep her. Her story is that in the spring she found a lilac bush that smelled so good, she magically transformed one of its flowers into a tiny jar of solid perfume. (Old-fashion perfumes were not always liquid, some were in ‘cakes’ that had to be touched, this is a case of that) The perfume puff hair seems hit or miss with the community but I am a huge fan of it and love finger styling. They are just so different & beautiful with their hair like soft clouds in lovely colors. Charming! Would recommend to anyone.
