He would say that it was a surprise to get back to the dorm and see Jim asleep in the middle of a text book. But Jim was one of the most studious people he’d met, despite his first impression. It was nearly 3 AM and Bones was exhausted from his medical shift. He halted in the doorway, debating whether to put a blanket over him and leave him there, or to try and get his roommate into a proper bed.

He sat with a guard on each side--his own men--with their weapons at the ready should anyone on the Enterprise try something. However, Sybok looked at peace in his seat, quietly meditating until the sound of the automatic doors snapped him from his thoughts.       John’s gaze drifts over his shoulder when someone addresses him, eyes the hand holding his PADD lowering it slightly as he turns expectantly. “Captain Kirk, yes?” He greets, calculating gaze hidden behind a polite smile. “Commander Harrison. I was told you were coming, but given no reason.” 

     “Captain,” He greets, his head turning as the man approaches so that his keen eyes can flick over him. “Do you NEED something?” 

She looks up from the PADD she was reading from, glancing over her shoulder to see the man who had just entered the medbay. "Is there something I can help you with Mr. Kirk?"
