“Percival Robards, just my luck before I skip town for the summer.”

Nell had come on behalf of her parents, Nolan stuck at the office today and her mother more exhausted than usual because of her pregnancy. They’d sent their best wishes and made sure Nell came prepared with a gift, too. She held the present nervously between her hands, happy to be holding something so that she didn’t fiddle around too much.

“Well, hey,” she breathed a smile when she saw him.

There wasn’t much in anticipation, or nerves, but Hollie Hopkirk was excited to have a night out. When offered drinks, she couldn’t decline such invitation and now was dressed in her favorite threads and heels. If there was anything she missed over the course of motherhood, it was dating through and through. The way small talk ran its course and sometimes led to learning about all new curves and crevices of a new person -- it was magical. And though Hollie knew her suitor to be, she didn’t really know Percy Robards. Tonight she’d dig a little deeper.

She arrived fashionably late, taking the time to remove her coat, “I’m not late, am I? Hello, love.”
