I completely agree with your post about Magnus chase. So what if he is a straight white male? Authors tend to write what they know. It must be pretty daunting writing a poc character of a different gender as the hate he could get if he gets it wrong!

You are so right. Rick himself is a straight white male, he's completely allowed to write about one. besides, I think he already has some good poc characters, so people really can't complain he only writes white males. And now for some fangirling: Blood of Olympus is out so soon! I'm going to finish rereading House of Hades and then I'll just go on full fangirling mode.
