We're trying so hard/ Just to live/ To breath/ To eat/ To feel/ A never ending war breaking out/ We don't bother to look around/ To take it all in/ The dew drops of rain that curve just so/ The first blooming of cotton soft petals/ A loved one's laugh/ Or even our own feelings/ Stuck on this endless brigade
Needing to move/ To feel/ For some made-up purpose/ A facade/ Brought upon by years of constant trying/ The feelings not your own/ Precious memories made important by declaration/ Purpose long lost/ If ever existing/ Just knowing/ To fit/ Β To be living/ You must check off a list
Everything truly important/ The little things/ A loved ones look/ The taste of berries ripe/ Everything that makes one thing an its and another a thats/ So fleeting/ So fast/ You miss it after the world is gone/ And you're taken from it.
