Summary: Jungkook is a simple man. He goes to work, he hangs out with friends, he worries about finding a mate to take home for his hometown breeding season. Maybe he spends a little more money on cam girls than is fiscally responsible but he has niche tastes. Maybe he feels a bit adrift, but he's a young penguin hybrid, supposedly in his prime, far from his crèche. At least he's good at one thing: taking care of his precious egg. A comfort egg, not a real egg, he's not a real penguin, just a man with penguin DNA and behavioral tendencies. Just like Yoongi isn't actually an owl, even if he does stay up all night and sometimes hoot to fuck with their roommates. But this is a real love story, even if a slightly odd one.
This is a quirky little kind of odd hybrid story. Short (I think 5 chapters) and yes I have spinoff ideas for other members ;) Includes some niche kinks. Explicit smut in the future and uh, lots of bird puns...
CW: cam girls, egg in vagina kink, masturbation, eventually explicit sex... I honestly don't know what else but this story is QUIRKY... so uh, be prepared I guess!

OK I'm putting this beneath the cut because it's a lot of pictures. Honestly some of these stories I wrote a while ago so I'm trying to remember who I'd envisioned them...
Meadow Jungkook: starts with longer straight hair, wears dark colors, tattoos, piercings. Any of Jungkook's tough guy long haired looks would work for this, the bigger and less he looks like he cares, the better. Butter music video but pretend the purple hair is black and get rid of the smile LOL. There are lots of fan arts that work for this too. He cuts his hair shorter and then you can think of that concert peformance where he had the skeleton shirt and red sunglasses, can't find an official photo rgiht now...
SEA OF INDIGO JK: Long enough for a ponytail (you will notice I have a bias here LOL) through shaggy. I think he always needs to look like a slightly overgrown puppy, a tough guy who doesn't actually look very tough in the face.
SUGAR FAIRY JK: I can't remember if I ever really specified hair or anything but this is totally how I still think of him, just add on the bunny ears. It’s more accurate for the beginning of the story, maybe his style and physicality grow over the course of it. But he’ll always be this emo bug in my heart.
AMENDED JK: You can see the remnants of his tough guy youth but he has to have his hair work-required short. Looks more clean cut and responsible but with a streak of hot guy arrogance. The "Will it Fit" Jimmy Fallon bit was highly inspiring.
LOWLANDER JK: while I don't have any photos or art of him with the really longer hair I'd thought of, his longer hair with the undercut works well, or just his longer hair in general. He had a photoshoot that fit the vibe really well and I also actually commissioned art from Hellenysart as well.
PENGUIN KOO: You didn't ask about him but I'll include him, it might surprise readers to know I've envisioned him as blond sweater Koo. Look at that grump!
OK that's my image limit. Hope this is what you were looking for! And obviously everyone is free to envision whichever JK look they want in the stories :) sometimes I don't even get too specific (Like in Little Bean and Flux, where JK's look is roughyl accurate to whatever he actually had going on at the time.)

- Sugar Fairy JK --the story even starts because he can't be controlled 🤣 and you would be mistaken if you think they're done having children after the twins
- Meadow JK --strong sex drive, finds his mate irresistable, gets turned on by her not always at the best moment...
- Little Bean/Flux JK --does not always make the best boyfriend choices because he gets so excited about sex
- Lowlander JK --strong sex drive, although I think he's actually pretty in control of it but uses it as a vehicle for expression affection before he learns how to use his big boy words, tries to make himself seem more sex-oriented than he is to appear manly
- Lone Blue Egg JK --even though so much of his story revolves around porn/cam girls/a particular sex act, it's pretty clearly just a focus point for a longing for intimacy
- Amended JK --loves sex but specifically with his lady, has no problem setting that aside when the time isn't right
- Sea of Indigo JK --obviously comes around on sex but at this point really undervalued sex as part of intimacy until he learned how loving it could be

I can't believe I finished writing Penguin Koo last night! 😭 I hope everyone loves it once it's edited and posted. Anyway, it won't be the last we see of JK and Rana since the stories in the series will all intertwine with each other, so I'm not feeling TOO sad.
Lowlander is such a ride, but there's a later book in this Lowlander series where we actually get to spend more time in Orlais that I think will be familiar and fun for anyone who likes Dragon Age! Lowlander and Asunder focus so closely on the Avvar and the Frostback Mountains and surrounding area.
So I've only made it through half of the first Mass Effect game so far, but I"m planning to go back to it once I finish the game I"m playing right now (Disco Elysium), and who knows what motivation will come out of it 😉 I suspect I'll lose myself in that world too!

I know I said I’m a ho for angst, but girl I’m DROWNING. That said, I love seeing everybody’s comments piecing together the Amended universe and JK/Isabella’s growth after that last chapter.
Honestly my fav thing about this fandom that you built is watching it turn into a literature course discussion group 😂.
And let me just take a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to be able to communicate with the author of the stories we love! How rare and special is that?!
Finally, on a different note, I just need to say that calling JK in LBE “Penguin Koo” literally makes my life.
me too, my friend, me too. The back to back angst in both those stories is ROUGH writing. I'm basically just trying to plow through these next chapters of Flux to get them out and done with. WHY DID I HURT US LIKE THIS?
Ok but FANDOM? You flatter a girl too much. I won't lie though I am dying with blushes and warm hearts reading all the thoughts from everyone. Sure I guess being fabulously wealthy from famous novels would be cool, but does it really compare to getting to watch a bunch of strangers on the internet dig in on your story and unearth all the effort you put into it? I'm not sure it does. This is SO COOL FOR ME.
Penguin Koo is the cutest grumpy baby. Look up pictures of baby penguins and you will feel joy, it's unavoidable. Now look at pictures of JK in big oversized sweaters. Joy again. See? They're the same. I'm so excited I finished part two today, that'll go into early access tomorrow and be out for everyone a few days after Christmas. At least that story is one bright spot right now 😅
Already in love with Lone Blue Egg, and not just because it is both steamy and cute 😶🌫️🥰. I feel like this work/chapter really explores sensation. Everything in it is so tactile, it’s a very very cool way of writing, especially since this looks like it will be a shorter series. It just really packs a punch.
I cannot comment on Flux. Too painful. But LBE is helping me through. And of course, always endlessly grateful for multiple updates in a week 🙏🏻❤️. You’re too good to us Foxy, even when the angst is crushing our souls. Hope you have a relaxing end of the week!!
I'm so flattered by this and YES. I spend a lot of time with this story thinking about how people physically experience the world, and ways that animal instinct would enhance those. Like the peace JK gets when he turns those faded blue lights on in his room, or the feel of his egg, or the way he would experience cold and warmth or crowds or isolation compared to the way Tae or Yoongi might.
I actually spent hours finding his egg as I saw it in my head so I could actually hold it and understand the size and weight. I keep it by me while I'm writing him. It's actually become my fidget toy, I flip it in my lap during long meetings LOL.
I think JK's story will be about 5 chapters and then I'm hoping to do the branching stories for all 7 members over time. Yoongi's is the one I've got my eye on for next.
LBE is totally getting me through Flux and uh, some other stories I had forgotten would be dealing with some angst... the timing of those is inconvenient but LBE will hold us close!
