OKAY I MSOS ORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG I WAS JUST SO BUSY BUT IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR AO LONG so yes, a small back story as to what led up to the biting incident is that Zafira had been going through hunger pangs and withdrawals from eating kryptis meat. There's also this essence/power the kryptis have that Zafira often would use to keep up her strength so she was also missing that. So one night, in the heat of passion during sex her playful nibbling turned into full on tearing chunks out of Peitha’s legs. Peitha was able to slash her face with her claws and get her off but she had to be taken to a healer since she was bleeding out. 

After that they’re relationship is very rocky. For a while sex is off the table and anytime there is sex [per her own request] Zafira is with a muzzle and sometimes cuffed [she was already into restraints] but with the context of why, Peitha often turns down sex because she doesn't always find Zafira restrained sexy. 

It’s a bit later during this that Zafira is called in by the wizards to Janthyir with no context other than “it's urgent”. That is where she is met with the phantom of Mabon who tells her that there is something important she needs to find in his room, giving her a series of runes to draw on one of his walls to unlock a box. It's in that box that he kept the only remaining evidence of Zafira's past pre-ascension and it came with drawings of her wife and Mabon's journal entries about meeting them.

It is at this point, with so much loneliness building up from the distance between her and Peitha that Zafira goes out to find her wife. 

Fast forward a few months after Zafira has reunited with Aaminah, Peitha tells Zafira she thinks it's best she spends a bit longer time with her. That she knows the stress of having to be in Nayos has gotten to her and she should focus on learning about her past.
