Cerf Violoneux is a reversed glass painting about an almost forget tradition from my home countryside. It’s a rite of passage between two seasons, two cycles. Young people hunt the wild man and enchain him then walk through the village as a sign of luck. We found those kind of rituals about hooded animals in many other countries ( one of the most known is the #marilwyd in South Wales ). There will be a second painting, same size, same frame about Putois, which is a variation from another village. . . . #cerfvioloneux #putois #traditions #alsace #peinturesousverre #reversedglasspainting #hoodedanimal #folklore #hirshhirziger #hornung #folkcustom #folkart #minamond #naifnoir https://www.instagram.com/p/CH76nOwAYML/?igshid=1i4y93gdxsxld
