the parcel is small, nicely wrapped and expertly given to doris on his last visit to leave on her bed. it's a simple bracelet, but with the note attached which reads "merry chrysler from the nerd in new york :)" harry can only hope the message gets across that he appreciates her.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā perhaps itās no surprise the christmas spirit seems to evade liz this year. she tries -- primarily for her motherās sake -- to don aĀ holly - jolly disposition , but itās no use. even so , after a night jam - packed with the usual christmas movie marathon ( this tradition is likely the only usual thing about this holiday , given recent events ) liz finds her spirits have liftedĀ āāā somewhat. she concludes itās primarily due to her proximity to doris. with her ever - so - kind nature , & toothy grins. liz wonders how it is she stays afloat. if she even is , really. but itās when the night concludes , & doris promptly kisses liz on the forehead , informs her thereās something for her in her room & gives her one last squeeze , that the teenās thoughts are directed elsewhere. that umber optics are finally rendered alight with something akin to hope.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā she stalks upstairs , all the while holding a blanket close to her form. when she reaches her room , she sits atop her comforter. legs curl under her as she examines the package left upon her bed. liz finds reading the note makes her heart rate quicken , so she holds the item to her chest a moment. oh , of course , she thinks. harry. digits deftly open the gift , & upon catching sight of the bracelet , she gasps. itās beautiful.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā liz whips out her phone then , before she even places the bracelet āpon wrist , & promptly shoots harry a text. it reads : ā hi harry, merry christmas! sorry this is so late, i was with my mom all day. but i got your gift - i love it sm!!! iām sorry i couldnāt get you anything this year. iāll make it up to you next year though, ok? i promise :) ā.
