âĄ. éťç â âlisten,â cue a small pause as fingers immediately tucked a loose hair strand behind her ear before she continued, âit wasnât even a party? like ⌠okay, it was a party but it didnât felt like one? everyone was awkward and it was just quiet. people were in groups and the music was so bad that i had to leave after 20 minutes of being there. iâm not kiddingââ and she really wasnât. it was literally the most boring party one couldâve imagined. her math classes would probably be much more entertaining than that, honestly. but then again, weylyn wasnât much for partying. sure, she liked to get drunk sometimes but going to parties where she knew no one wasnât quite ideal. maybe, maybe it wouldâve been something else if yeonha came along but once again, she doubted that. that one party was just, in one word, damn hopeless. âyou should take me to a good party because lately, iâve only been to boring ones⌠or maybe iâm the boring oneâ who knows?â
nose scrunched and cheeks puffed out slightly, âit was really depressing, though. i went there all excited, thinking iâd have some fun and get away from my studies. ugh, i had made myself so pretty too, iâm mad,â crossing her arms over her chest, she then looked over at the other with a serious expression spread of her face, âyou know what? you should take me out tonight to make up for the fact that i didnât take you to that other partyââ
sheâs not mad or anything. on the verge of pouty, but not quite there yet, probably never finally, fully reaching such stage either. itâs a disappointment, the lack of an invite, though thereâs nothing she can do about it now. over and done with, the party is no more, yeonhaâs only just finding out it even happened. âyou shouldâve called me. i couldâve crashed it and hyped up the crowd simultaneously.â two birds with one stone, her confidence is suffocating. believe it or not, she was quite the party girl a few years back. once upon a time very touchy with everyone in the crowd, showing no shame, young and reckless, finding her way into clubs despite being underage. always going to the craziest gatherings, she knew the wrong people, the questionable kind, the ones her parents worried about. but it was beneficial, connections were made, there was always decisions, multiple bashes to choose from. it was wild and it was fun, her interest never dying out.Â
she obviously still goes now sometimes. but sheâs got a lack of intel, and no want to be close to people, to be touched whether itâs on purpose or purely accidental. âiâd have to try and find my old friends again if you want to go to a real party. though i canât guarantee theyâll actually reply to me.â yeonâs crazy in the sense that sheâll try anything, jump off bridges and swim with dangerous animals, do stupid challenges that could end in blood, but those only involve her. if she touches someone, if she puts her skin on theirs - sheâs convinced theyâll end up dead just like her father. will put her own safety at a risk, but not anotherâs. so the parties she ends up at are never.. popping. theyâre never fun, quite literally the type weylyn now describes. or itâs one that requires special access, with only a couple people, not an overwhelming crowd that doesnât know boundaries. sheâll stay in the back, over by the bar, watching everyone else have the time of their lives while she sits wondering how she became a mutant, and how itâs ruining everything, most importantly her youth.Â
yeonha laughs when the elder ( itâs only a few months. ) expresses her anger. ânow thatâs just karma.â thinks it serves her right, hopes sheâll now think twice before going to any similar event without the parkour goddess at her side. and while the proposition sounds good, and sheâs totally up for it, she senses something wrong with the wording. ends up with both eyebrows raised, looking side to side without her head moving. a gesture used to say that lyn is absolutely nuts. âi should take you out? uh, i think it needs to be the other way around, there, darling. you should be taking me out.â
