This is the task of initializing all snare drums. I tuned all the snares I have to the same pitch to some extent. Because the snare side is new, the 4ply 4" depth and the one piece 5.5" depth have a slightly lower snare side lug pitch. The snare drum has a shallow depth. Therefore, even if the lug pitch on the snare side is lowered by one octave, it is hard to change the lug pitch on the batter side and the fundamental pitch except for changes in overtones and sustain. And that is not as clear as Toms. By applying this theory, it can be used to tune low pitch and dead snare like Steely Dan and mute snare wire. However, to seek a sensitive and bright sound, keep the snare side at a certain level of tension. Today Jared Falk shows how to tune drums on Drumeo's YouTube channel. As in my previous post, I do the same. Basically, the batter and reso have the same pitch. In the world, it is generally said that the lug pitch of the reso head is higher than batter. Then there are 3 pitches. Batter's low lug, reso's high lug, and fundamental. When installing an on microphone on this drum, it is usually installed on the batter side. Then, the fundamental pitch recorded with the off-mic and the batter's pitch recorded with the on-mic differ, so it becomes muddy low. In order to avoid this, basically it is best to make batter and reso the same pitch. There are only two pitches. Same batter and reso lug, and fundamental.
