Peanuts oc wa wa wa wa
hey, peanuts fandom, gimme your Charlie Brown headcanons please, I want interaction
I summon the Peanuts fandom and offer this fan art as sacrifice. I need your knowledge on the show's lore. So I remember Lucy telling Schroeder that he has pretty eyes and him getting embarrassed by that I want to know if that's real or I just imagined it? And if it's real, where can I see it again? Best regards a casual fan.
Fan Fiction I've Wrote 1: Peanuts
Just getting this list out here of all the fanfics I've written to date, 'cause yall need to culture yall selves with some good fics and get out your comfort zone. Don't need to know the canon of fandoms to read them, just like with any other media. If you can watch a new movie, show, or get a book without knowing much, then fan fics are no different. Also I am open to any tag suggestions to add to any of these. I wanted to make this one post, but there's too many works.
There's gold here, and I'll let you know how well I think about them.
PEANUTS
—https://archiveofourown.org/series/4586311 You're A Ladies Man, Charlie Brown
Word count: 109k split into four books, unlike it's original release on FFN
Rated Teen
Synopsis: Patty(not Patty Reichardt), Lucy Van Pelt, and Violet Gray each deal with something traumatic that not only had them turn on each other, but the school. As they each endured and suffered, Charlie Brown helped each of them through it, and they fell in love with him and created a polyamorous relationship. Takes place in high school.
Why: It was a story request from a FFN user. The premise seemed like a good idea, I am poly myself, and have never written a poly fic. It's also a nice change from the many Charlie/Peppermint Patty and Charlie/Heather Wold pairings. I like Patricia Richardt getting her man as much as the next Peanuts fan, but there's so many characters one can pair up throughout the decades. It's a decent read without too many convuluted fanfic mcguffins.

Word count: 35k
Rated Mature
Synopsis: Somewhat based on a series of comic strips where the Van Pelts were allegedly going to move out of town, but ended up moving a street over, diwn the street, or something. They moved while Charlie was in middle school, to New Jersey. So Charlie's life turned around without her around, and he ended up at the University of Louisville.
Because of how her life was in New Jersey, going from big bully fish in a small pond, to small bully fish in a big pond; Lucy did not handle it when she was basically the Charlie Brown of her school and neighborhood. Having turned to drinking and sex to cope as she got older, she was forced to transfer to sweep it all under the rug.
She had class with one of Charlie's friends who wanted to date her. Nobody had really ever seen her and didn't believe she was real, until he finally talked to her and convinced her to join them for lunch. She bailed when she realized Charlie was there, before he caught eye of her. He eventually ran into her—literally, she ran away, and actively avoided them all. It was then another friend of his realized who the other was chasing, pointed out she was one of the campus sluts.
Charlie found her and convinced her to be friends and slowly they started to fall for each other and date, where he helped her through her problems and she set out to end her reputation.
Why: It was an idea I had, and it was just too good to ignore. It's also the last story I've written with sex scenes. It also let me throw my own hometown in as a backdrop, so any other Louisvillians will enjoy seeing a few places past and present in place. It takes Charlie and Lucy out of the norm and puts them by themselves. Charlie/Lucy isn't a popular pairings, especially because she's canonically his bully, but that's when they're elementary school kids under ten. And it's fan fiction, where they can be made to work. They're older and through redemption and change, they work.
It's unfinished because I got writers block and had other things to write. There's 31 chapters with 19 published. I'm going to split it into two books, the first is going to get 20 chapters, the rest will be in book two. This is one of my fics I really like. One really doesn't need to know much about Peanuts to read it.

Word count: 11k
Rated Teen
Synopsis: Long out of college, Schroeder found life and his dreams were harder than he thought, trying to make a living as a musician. He found himself at a jazz bar in hopes of a more permanate gig. It was there that he struggled and found out that there was a well loved singer that could probably make or break him working there. A singer that seemed to be quite the diva, who only did it for a place to stay. Who she was, was kept a secret from him, when his fascination after his first play with her, grew too much. He eventually found out it was Lucy, but she acted like she didn't know him, until they met again. She finally came clean and he finally started to fall for her and her old feelings returned as they're performances brought out the best of each other. He could see her worth, and she saw real reasons to want him.
Why: I kinda, sorta wrote this because of the Shrucy craze, but also because I had only ever written Schroder/Lucy once and had an idea for another one. I think the Schrucy fics are a fucking plague, but I think out of the few I've read, this is one of the better ones, and it's one of my good fics. It's underrated.

Synopsis: Patricia Reichardt aka Peppermint Patty now in high school is questioning who she is and how that's going to work out, discovers that she's trans once she convinces Charlie to take her to a dance, and wearing a dress felt wrong. She eventually started dressing like a boy in secret. All while Charlie finally dates Heather, yet the feelings seem different than the ones that confuse him that he has towards Schroeder. Once Heather moved, things still weren't clear, so he threw himself in hobbies and things.
Charlie and Linus went to follow Schroeder one day after Lucy complained and demanded they figure out why he didn't want anything to do with her or any girl. Curious, they went to track him down and found he was kissing Lamar, which brought those weird feelings back in Charlie. They kept it from Lucy for months, and Patricia slowly intergrated her new self. Schroeder eventually told Lucy to get her off his back.
Charlie talked to Schroeder and Lamar about his problem and found out he was bisexual, Patricia also opened up to them. Lucy spills the beans about Patricia liking Charlie to him. Pat finally came out. During summer, he went to a lgbt camp, while Charlie and Sally ended up meeting other kids on a family trip and Sally found out her brother was bi because of those kids, and had to be taught.
Towards the end of summer, before Pat got back, Charlie came out to his friends. Once Pat got back Charlie had no clue who he was and had a crush on him. Pat ended up dating a girl named Melody, who was also dating Linus. Melody's jig was up quick. Charlie looks for Pat at school, still not knowing who Pat now is now, found him and knew exactly who he was, and they opened up about their feelings.
Why: I hadn't really wrote many queer stories, I had a idea and not much else, so I decided to write it for Pride month. Not one of my best stories, it could've been better, and not so rushed. The ending is really good, though.

Word count: 12k
Rated Teen
Synopsis: Lucy tried to get Charlie to kick the football again and this time her prank failed successfully, left her seriously hurt. A broken jaw that hurt her social life, as well, although she had to start reevaluating things. Lamar still had a crush on her, that he didn't want to act on, on principle. Once she gets all the head gear off, she finds herself ugly and wore a mask. It was revealed to her that Lamar liked her, and they set out to try and get them together. She was nervous and surprised somebody liked her, despite all the time she spent chasing Schroeder. They finally had a chance to talk and she gave him a chance.
Why: I wrote this because I had been wanting to write something where here football prank failed her. It's not too bad unless you just don't like Lucy with anybody else.

Synopsis: Lucy and Lamar reconnect years after high school, and aim to date once both are back in town. Her car breaks down on the way, Lamar thinks she stood him up, until he runs into somebody on the side of the road.
Why: Just a quick story idea. Peanuts fans are probably wondering who Lamar is. He's an OC of mine, who typically doesn't take center stage and is usually a supporting character.

Word count: 47k
Rated: Various
Synopsis: A probably pointless collection of stories that aren't related to each other. And too many to detail in this already long post.
Why: I don't know why I put them in a collection, but each one was something I thought of writing. The Ballad of Charlie Brown and Lucy Van Pelt was in a way inspired by Cowboy Bebop. The Great Pumpkin King was my first attempt at a horror story. The stories here are hit and miss, kinda mid.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/21657583 It's A Reunion, Charlie Brown!
Word count: 44k
Rated Mature
Synopsis: Due to his childhood, Charlie became an OTR trucker and never wanted to set foot in his hometown again, much less the state, but Linus convinced him to come back for their first high school reunion. He was a changed man, far from the kid he was. Once back, they were shocked when he met up with many of them. They all but seemingly Lucy and Violet changed.
After getting reaquainted, he found out everybody wasn't okay. Patricia was hurt the most from his leaving and abandoning home and still had feelings for him. He set out to sort things between them. It was revealed his sister was a stripper, Violet and Lucy dated in high school, Linus and Marcie were FWB.
Patricia has taken to drinking and throwing herself into work at her dads garage. During a girls night with Tapioca, Patty, Violet Frieda, and Lucy, they decided to leave their childish loathing of Charlie in the past, except Lucy. They also found out Lucy and Violet were a thing back then and what happened. They try to rekindle that flame, but Violet refuses as long as Lucy continues to hold on to that hate.
Charlie and Patricia find themselves dating after her father kicks her out of the house for her own good and his sanity, to push her on Charlie. During the reunion Lucy is set straight and with the ultimatum from Violet, makes peace with Charlie. Things get better for both couples, niether wants to let go of what they now have. Charlie and Lucy go together to get their girls engagement rings. Patricia decides that she's going to leave and live her life with Charlie. Her dad gives her one last gift that leaves her in tears.
Why: This was what got me into fanfiction. I saw some of myself in canon Charlie. I was just inspired to write this. Technically the second fic I ever wrote(Through A Lense Queerly was the first), is the first I published. I wrote two versions, a clean version for FFN and the regular one for AO3 with the sex scenes. This is one of my favorite fanfics I've written.

afterwards they all went to look out point and finally Charlie and Lucy hit a homerun.
Why: It was just a good story idea. Execution could've been better, but I still like it. Also I had forgotten to repost this on AO3

The Shrucy Craze
Apparently the Peanuts fandom has exploded, which would be great because it'd put eyes on my work, but it seems to be mainly what they call "Shrucy"; the Schroeder/Lucy ship. Which means AO3 is being flooded with one ship, and that shit gets annoying (See Ed, Edd, N Eddy fanfic section) real fast.
The great thing is it's getting people writing, reading, and bringing some life back into one of fhe oldest fandoms. But that also brings a mass of ameteur writing mistakes. Which are baffling, and makes it look like one has never actually opened a book in their life.
--Large massive paragraphs--
Walls of text are annoying to read, chances are, it could (and should) be broken up into two or more psragraphs.
--Jumbled up dialog--
Everybody's dialog all in a single paragraph is a no-no in pretty much EVERY single writing discipline:
"Oh that's cool," Jim said as they looked at the fancy car. "You really like that one," Suzy asked. It had a great paint job they could see their reflection in, the engine was powerful. "Of course I do." The owner gave a thumbs up. "It does look great."
No. Every line of dialog stands on it's own, on a new line. Each speaker begins a new line/paragraph:
"Oh that's cool," Jim said as they looked at the fance car.
"You really like that one," Suzy asked.
(Things not related to dialog or the characters starts a new line) It had a great paint job they could see their reflection in, the engine was powerful.
"Of course I do."
The owner gave a thumbs up.
"It does look great."
See how that makes sense, and is easier to read? That's why stories are written this way.
--Mixing up dialog and actions between characters--
Again... this makes things hard to read and follow.
"I'd love to give this baby a spin," Jim said. Suzy took pictures and rolled her eyes. "One day I'll have a car this sick."
If you didn't know, all that dialog is Jim. This is another no-no. A characters actions should only be attached to THEIR OWN dialog, or by itself, NOT anothers.
"I'd love to give this baby a spin. One day I'll have a car this sick," said Jim.
Suzy took pictures and rolled her eyes.
Or:
"I'd love to give this baby a spin," said Jim.
Suzy took pictures and rolled her eyes.
"One day I'll have a car this sick," he added.
Or:
"Id love to give this baby a spin," said Jim.
Suzy took pictures and rolled her eyes. "You can barely drive, as it is."
--Tenses--
A story should be past tense, or present tense. It can't be both at the same time. Either it's already happened as being told, or it's unfolding as the reader reads it.
Jim knocked on the door, and Suzy is running to open it.
Jim had knocked on the door, that's past tense. Suzy running to the door is present tense. Either Jim knocked on the door and Suzy ran to open it, or Jim is knocking on the door, and Suzy is running to open it. It's one or the other, not both.
Suzy is laying down and watching TV is present tense, currently happening, as opposed to; Suzy had laid down and watched TV, that's past tense, she had done that already.
--Adverbs--
A person can't speak a laugh, or sigh, leer, or smile.
It's not, "You really screwed up," Jim laughed.
It's, "You really screwed up," Jim said with a laugh, or, "You really screwed up." Jim laughed. A person can only vocalize; growl, whisper, yell, stammer, shout, stutter.
This is all literally the bare minimum of writing. It's not asking much, regardless of why you write. You ain't gotta be perfect, or be on the level of Tolkien, or even seeking to better your writing skills. And nobody is asking, or expecting of such, we just wanna be able to read what you've slaved over. It could be pure fucking gold awesomeness, but if nobody can read and make sense of it, they won't see it, can't see it, or both.
And for the love of Charles Shultz; let's not flood the damn fandom with Lucy/Schroeder fics. Between the comics, the movies, the specials, the PSA materials, and educational material, there's like 35 characters to choose from.
reblog if ur in the peanuts fandom
Physically, Peanuts is a perpetual eight-year-old, though in reality he's much older than a good number of the other fandoms.
