latin honors are 100% not a thing here. like i got my bachelors “with distinction” (which is what cum laude translates to iirc) for a gpa >6.0 (out of 7, our grading system is weighted so fails hit you harder bc they’re dicks) but that’s about it as far as I’m aware? ANYWAYS the point is you did super good and i’m really really excited for you!!

Thank you!! <3 <3 (and oooooo, do you not do latin honors in Australia? weird. basically it’s a kind of honors distinction based---at least at my university, I think it varies---on grade point average: a 3.5 to a 3....7, I think? is cum laude, then that to 3.84-ish is magna cum laude, and that to 4.0 is summa cum laude. You get to wear honor cords at commencement and it’s inscribed your diploma. It is a Big Deal, at least in my family, and I am super excited.)

While having lumch with my boyfriend he suddenly went very quiet, and started to shoosh and pat his burger, like you would a child.
