This tutorial requires at least a basic knowledge of build mode, the platform tool, and how to install and use custom content.

First up, this tutorial uses a few pieces of CC. I'm sure someone more creative than me could find a way around that, but for the sake of simplicity, you'll need to grab the following items:

Peacemaker - Lofte Living Decor Brick Arch Pieces

Ravasheen - Feel the Burn Fireplace Inserts (specifically the standalone firewood, but the rest are equally useful for making cool custom fireplaces).

Got everything? Good. Open your game and pick a lot. If you want to actually light your fireplace to test it out, you'll need a sim too.

Step One: Build a box. You you can build whatever size box and wall height you want. This is the box where the fire will live. I'm just using a short wall with a little 2x1 box, but you can use a 2x2 or even just a tiny 1 tile. It just has to fit whatever fireplace insert you're using. We will be using the Standalone Firewood, which has a half-tile footprint.

Step Two: Locate the decor brick pieces. These can be found in wall decorations or by searching "lofte".

Place the decor brick pieces against your wall box, starting with the top which uses the 1x1 segments. Next place the side pieces according to your chosen wall height. Here I've placed the short 1 tile pieces. Last, fill in the corners using the outer corner pieces. You'll end up with the picture above or something similar if you got creative.

Step Three: Delete the walls and place the standalone firewood. It's located in the fireplaces category.

*Note: At this point if you would like your fireplace lit, have your sim light it. Once it is raised up sims cannot interact with it unless you lower the platform. It's kind of a pain but unavoidable unless you want to have a ground level fireplace, which you can totally do too. For this tutorial I'm going over a few other customization options which involve using the platform tool.

Step Four: Click the box and raise your platform to the desired height. We're just going up on click for now.

Step Five: Add a small fence to the front. Choose walls and floors to match or whatever you want. Some of the wall pieces have matching floors too, which I think looks great for realistic brick fireplaces. I'm using The Brickery here. Customize to your heart's content.

Other Options:

Adjust the platforms and use other wall pieces from the set to make all sorts of different fireplaces. There are really tons of ways to do this. In the first pic I used the short 1x1 segments on the top and the bottom and raised the platform accordingly. In the second I used the 1 tile arch piece and placed the short 1x1 segments below to make a brick oven looking thing.

Here's a thing you could do if you want an open-sided fireplace in the middle of a room or something.

You can use the other wall pieces, windows, fences, and platform trims to customize it however you want. Lots of options!

Just remember that sims need a clear path and the fireplace on ground level to interact with it. This is more for decoration than anything, but it technically will function you just have to hop into build mode and lower the platform before sims can light it or put it out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
