it actually is a perennial issue that Western, predominantly white, LGBT people especially online frequently act in ways that are incredibly entitled and racist and like our experiences are universal and to be prioritized above all else. and that is a serious, tangible barrier to queer liberation worldwide.
but there are ways to talk about that that are helpful and there are ways that are not only queerphobic but actively erasing to queer people elsewhere
this is not about tone. you are allowed to be angry when people act ignorant and bigoted and you are under no obligation to be nice to them. but you DO need to understand what are subjects you have enough knowledge/experience to be able to comment on responsibly and where you need to simply step back.
