Pays de Sault The "Pays de Sault" as viewed from the village of Belvis, in the Aude region, in the South of France.

Pays de Sault The "Pays de Sault" is a high plateau (900m.-1300m.) in the Aude region ( bordering the Ariège) in the French Pyrenees. Cows and sheep are all over the place and the sheepdogs (the 'patous') have to be reckoned with when you cross the vast meadows. One photo shows a row of trees, all that remains from thousands of trees that were cut down to build fences for the cattle. The other photo shows the remains of a house ( where a sheperd or a logger lived), invaded by weeds and trees. Photos: 21 days ago.
