#pay us

I think I’m low key making people at my job unionize. It’s crazy Bc like I am not trying to make shit more difficult for my pops or anything, but you have to pay a livable wage. This isn’t ‘unskilled labor.’ when I say stuff like “we gotta know our worth they need us more than we need them” “if the boss cared he wouldn’t give us the bare minimum wage.” “we need benefits, not just government Medicaid” it’s true! In NY 10 bucks an hour plus tips, is NOT OKAY- it’s an excuse to pay tip workers less and exploit them. My coworkers have been working there for 10-20 years with NO INCREASE. Most reliable coworkers I’ve ever had in my life. There’s no excuse to exploit the working class. Now we have people in California making 22$ an hour in fast food (yay!!). This is why restaurant businesses will never find consistency in this generation, who actually puts in their all in hospitality. This industry will chew you up and spit you tf out.
