Because since Ichigo is the big man with the big sword there’s no way he’d be subordinate to Rukia, despite her having decades of experience and rank over him. A lot of the complaints about it I see are self-inserting dudebros who think of women as lesser than and refuse to acknowledge Rukia’s abilities bc she doesn’t hack and slash everything like Ichigo does, and bc she’s a woman. The misogyny is real.

If we think about it, it is always Rukia giving Ichigo the power to actually do anything, from the first chapter, to the Fullbring Arc, and all the way through to the Blood War Arc. Without Rukia Ichigo’s life is nothing but a constant rain of depression and a sense of powerlessness. She’s literally everything to him and while some writers do push just how literally they take that, they aren’t doing anymore harm than Kubo did by butchering his own manga bc he got pissy that some fans didn’t like his fave

Since I’m an adult (27 atm, 28 in 2 months!) I don’t feel it’s appropriate for me to follow people under 18, so I’d rather minors just not reblog the post to help me avoid accidentally following them. I always check for about/info pages now anyway but not reblogging the post at all just makes it that much easier

I held onto this ask to think about a bit bc I love a lot of the Ghibli films, but I have to say my absolute favorite is Howl’s Moving Castle. The visuals, the score, the atmosphere all set you up for a heartwarming story that you just want to experience over and over again. I adore Calcifer and I love seeing Sophie and Howl’s relationship start and then grow into something that’s just magical. Sophie herself is such a strong character and I really looked up to her strength and perseverance as a kid

“Your hair looks just like starlight” is peak romance and the only line that hits harder is “a heart’s a heavy burden”
