I'm wrapping a 16 month old who is 27 lbs. We usually wear for long walks, all day outings, and naps, so I expect a high level of performance from my wraps. Things only stay when they meet my expectations for both wrapping qualities AND aesthetics. Here's my carefully curated, American made, all Pavo, stash shot.
Gotham Fireworks RS - This is the first Pavo I bought close to two years ago. It was originally a size 3, left for a few months and came back to be converted to a ring sling. Gotham is dry, grippy, has moderate stretch, and locks into place. Older white warp Gothams take more work to break in than their newer Toy Store counterparts and they are just a hair thicker and less stretchy. This one has been loved hard and is now the softest and best cuddling wrap in my stash.
Sparkleberry Noir 6 - This is still breaking in. I don't think I've seen its full potential yet, but I anticipate great things. It's soapy and has phenomenal texture. It's on the heavy side, even for Pavo, and does take some effort to get a perfect double hammock. Once in place it feels rock solid and has great bounce. This color combo is beautiful, and the black areas of the wrap truly do sparkle.
Lovebirds Sapphire 7 - Oh Lovebirds <3. These perfectly blue birds stole my heart in a size 4 as my first direct from Pavo score. Since that first score, I have owned them in a 5, 6, and now finally my perfect 7. The airiest of my four wraps, Lovebirds is my go to for muggy days at the zoo, evening walks in the summer, and long sweaty wrap naps. Lovebirds, have the very best stretch and recoil, and effortlessly glide into place in a double hammock. I will always feel that this is the best of the best for wrapping qualities that Pavo has to offer. This wrap in, in this size, will stay until the end of our days.
Keshi Cove 7 - I admit that I didn't catch the Keshi bug last summer, and was only mildly impressed by a visitor when my daughter was little. Recently however, I tried a friend's 7 on a hot day at the park, and was wowed by the security of a double hammock for a nearly 1.5 hour nap. It kept us cool and comfortable. Keshi is cool like a nice pair of sheets, has a hard stretch on the diagonal, and forgives a sloppy wrap job. I'm not one for owning multiple wraps of the same design, but I could see this joining us in a ruck size for the summer.
Klee 5 - I first tried Klee in the fall of 2015, and immediately fell head over heals in love. This wrap has is all. It deserves it's place as king. You earn your wrap job with Klee, but it rewards you with the most comfy carry imaginable. It is thick, dense, stretchy, and has great grip. I would neither describe it as dry nor soapy, but somewhere right in the middle of the spectrum. Klee is one of the the only wraps I've ever seen that stretches in all three directions - along the weft, warp, and on the bias. I often find myself easily lost in the intricacy of the weave and the beautiful colors.
