I believe one of the reasons Kyle refers to himself as the Confused Poet, is because he can't decide which of his amazing gifts he'd like to shape the world with! This accomplished virtuoso is not only an award winning poet, he is also a youth minister, world renowned DJ, expert photographer, praise dancer, motivational speaker, comedian, community leader AND does a mean Michael Jackson impersonation. But all of that pales in comparison to what I feel is one of his most vital roles and that's that of torch bearer. In 2010, myself and a small group of poets created The Underground Poetry Spot here in Syracuse NY. Back then Syracuse had the highest illiteracy rate in the whole country, and was also one of the highest in crime, poverty and STD's. Though the city still struggles with many of these issues, as do most American cities, the Cuse has KJ and he has continued where us older poets left off, hosting open mics all over the city and continuing the rich legacy of so many who came before him. If I am the "Professor X" of poetry, then KJ my friend you are all 5 original X-Men roles into one: you're as cool as Iceman, as diesel yet graceful and brilliant as Beast, a natural leader like Cyclops, as close to God as Angel and most importantly, you blaze as bright as the Phoenix, a beacon of hope for all those lost. John and I go back pretty far and though we moved in different circles in high school, since he was a couple years older, I've always had nothing but the utmost respect for him. This is largely in part due to the fact that he is one of the very few individuals I know who not only grew up in Buffalo, put also attended and graduated from both Buffalo Prep and The Nichols school. What makes these feats so remarkable? Buffalo NY is considered one of the most racist and and segregated cities in all of America and Buffalo Prep is an extremely intensive college preparatory program that takes the smartest children of color that come from the poorest of homes and exposes them to 16 months of the most grueling, arduous academic regiment imaginable, in order to prepare us for the rigors of private/catholic high schools, Ivy League Universities and ultimately life. The Nichols school is the most expensive private high school in Buffalo NY and one of the most expensive and prestigious in all the world and John walked out of that school with honors. He is not only a genius, but has decided to apply that Great Mind to Greer Electric, a family business owned and operated in Buffalo since 2005. #MarquisDeLaRueClothing #PatronBook

Dominique La Rue Sosa My sister Dominique has been the greatest gift anyone could ask for, for as long as I can remember. Since we are only a year apart, we literally have walked much of this long winding road together and I couldn't have asked for a more incredible, intelligent, adventurous and amazing partner as we took this world by storm, from Hollywood to "Ruff Buff". And she still continues to amaze and inspire me with all her many accomplishments and fearlessness. I was joking/not joking with my wife recently and discussing the very real possibility of me running for president and in regards to my younger sister Dom, I said "Yeah and if by some miracle I did get elected president...she'd have to one up me: and become the freaking first black Queen of England!". And I say joking/not joking because anyone who has ever met my sister knows that she's literally the walking definition of "Anything you put your mind to...". Mrs. Woolford What can I say about my wife that I haven't already said (mostly) to her face? In the nearly 20 years that we've known each other 😳, this radiant light has shone on my life for about half of my existence. Sharone, you are my after life for eternity under the waterfall. You have tested me in ways that have shaped the man I am and I thank you for your continuous effort to grow and nurture our family under the conditions put forth by this tumultuous world. Though both of us our faaar from perfect (some of us further than others👀🐸☕️), together we are an exquisite masterpiece!
