Recently, Patrick sat down with Yeahchad of Meatbodies with ten questions in anticipation of their upcoming North American tour. The Los Angeles-based garage rock band will be performing at Mohawk on June 11th. And you can also catch Chad guest bartending Mohawk's happy hour earlier that afternoon, where you can ask him ridiculous questions like: "Why do people call you 'Yeahchad'?" or "Is it true that you'll only be playing KISS covers?" Oh, and he'll make you a drink.

Patrick: How long has Meatbodies been a band?  Yeahchad: About 3 years now. I started playing and recording under the name Chad and The Meatbodies when I would take breaks between tours. Then it went through a couple changes and now eventually transformed into just Meatbodies, which is what's going on now. 

P: What other bands do you play in/ with? C: I tour and play guitar in Mikal Cronin (live band) and then I also play Bass in Fuzz (Ty Segall). Cory, who plays guitar with me, has his band WAND.

P: When you were young, what did you tell people when they asked you, "what do you want to be when you grow up"? C: When I was really little I told my mom I wanted to be a truck driver that delivered donuts so I could eat all the donuts I wanted.

P: What is your beer/liquor of choice? C: I like south of the border stuff, like Pacifico with lime and tequila. That or vodka drinks. For some reason every time I’m in "vacation" mode I drink “sex on the beach” – like some how that solidifies me as "havin a good time.”

P: Scenario: you name a cocktail "Meatbodies," what would the ingredients be? C: ACID and JA RULE  mixed with LIME

P: If you were forced to tour with Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber, which would you choose? Why? C: Definitely Miley.  Justin just seems a like a lame dude that needs too much attention and handling. Miley seems like a rad time and we could have a blast partying. PLUS, I could get down with some of her songs. 

P: What song (not yours) best describes your band? C: “Phantom of The Opera” by Iron Maiden – or at least I wish it did.

  P: Do you even eat meat? C: Yes, I do. I’ve tried not to in the past, but I feel like my body responds well to eating meat. However, the way America handles their meat produce, especially California, is whack. Maybe I'll try to become a vegan and just eat trail mix all day because I love trial mix.

P: What is your favorite thing about Austin, Texas? C: I love Austin. I love it's food so much, When I visit, I plan my trip accordingly to where I want to eat first. Other than that, I just love the vibes in Austin. I've had some pretty whacky times there.
