i have a ton of thoughts on the demo that i’m trying to sort out but the one that’s hitting me like a brick at the moment is the way the whole story of pathologic basically feels like a myth to me now. it is unbelievable how much significance can get packed into the events of 12 little days revisited over and over for years and years.
i felt this with quarantine (actually getting to see him deciding to flee his lab for the steppe? something we always knew happened but never saw the details of? wild) (eva telling him to go check out some unsettling noises outside? hmm feels familiar) and i’m feeling it again here in a different way… like as soon as it hit me that the body on the tracks was one of the men artemy killed the “hmm what will happen in this game” feeling was replaced with OH. RIGHT. I KNOW THIS STORY. the man on his way to meet the immortal dead man. the man who steps off the train to his hometown and immediately finds himself a murderer. the pieces always come together differently but there’s always this set of familiar signposts, almost uncanny in their familiarity at this point because of how much else has changed………. MAN i don’t know i just love pathologic so much is basically what i’m saying
me when I start following pathologic blogs
it's so sad that Sticky was born before Skibidi Toilet he would've loved that
I have two hyperfixations that are pretty connected. Like, I see something that reminds me of one of them, which then flares that back up into an obsession, and then I fall into the other one again.
This doesn't seem that weird, but then I explain that it's Pathologic and Mystery of the Druids and suddenly people don't get it anymore.
It's because I was introduced to both of them by my older sibling through video essays very soon after each other and I rewatch the video essays one after the other pretty often?
Anyway, point is Tumblr keeps recommending me more Mystery of the Druids posts and I keep getting kicked back down the hole of hyperfixation.
And now I'm trying not to reference either of the games just in typing this lmaoooo

Ok look look look something something pathologic 2 aparently references theatre of cruelty anuways au where one of the healers has artauds thoughts on disease istg i read one of his essays which did cover hos thoughts on disease which were: plagues are spiritual, vaccines are good, masks? Ok, quarantine measures? An excellent preventative measure. Hedonism? Hell yeah babey. Debauchery? You know for sure it stops plagues. It would be so fucking funny “oh u have the plague??? Have u tried having an orgy because honestly u are just spiritually ill :/ try praying :/ and maybe medicine like i guess :/“
pathologic thoughts: just got to day 3 and i am still incredibly confused and generally terrified
-the dialogue is all so cryptic and i can't tell if it's because of translation or if it's Just Like That
-the tetris inventory is. frustrating but adds a nice challenge, i'm used to games where inventory is either unconstrained or limited by number of items or weight, so this has been interesting to work with. i have a dedicated twyre section and a Nut Column
-the mechanics overall are pretty cool? i like the thoughts tab, it's a pretty neat way of deciding what i should do at any given moment. i keep trying to do Everything because i'm the type to stop the main quest for any side mission or collectible that comes my way, but this is clearly Not That Kind Of Game so the time constraint forcing me to actively prioritize is a challenge
-murky scammed me?? made me pick a bunch of twyre and then was just like "lol you just gotta believe really hard"
-i guess that was a good intro to the twyre noises tho
-i am genuinely concerned for grace like please come out of the crypt immediately
-don't like these kids who wear the dog heads?? the soul and a halves seem much more trustworthy
-trustworthy is a strong word for anyone in this game honestly
-why did the earth itself physically reject my dad's body??
-what the fuck is clara
