*cringes at that mess* But why are Christians being so defensive about a holiday that I believe was originally Pegan? (not sure on that, so please correct me if I'm wrong)
To be honest, I don’t know a lot about the origins (I’m also open to more info on this). I remember one time when I was on tour with my family, a host family we stayed at gave me a handout about how Christmas is really a pagan holiday and shouldn’t even be celebrated by Christians at all. To me, whether it started as a pagan holiday or a Christian one, it’s kind of what you make of it. Heck, there’s even a freaking verse that supports this viewpoint. “Or, say, one person thinks that some days should be set aside as holy and another thinks that each day is pretty much like any other. There are good reasons either way. So, each person is free to follow the convictions of conscience.” (Romans 14:5 The Message version)
That being said, they really don’t have the right. This isn’t a war on Christianity, and getting their knickers in a twist over the design of a cup makes all of us look really stupid. I mean, really. Think about it.
We’re going to hold a secular company to Christian standards because of a cup.
A simpler design isn’t a current trend in overall design reduction, it’s an attack on Christmas and Christians because of a cup.
We should all go into Starbucks armed to the teeth and shove Jesus in everyone’s face as a deliberate offense because of a cup.
Christmas is what we say it is and because you didn’t design this to our liking we’re going to boycott you/go in and be obnoxious to perfectly honest hardworking baristas who didn’t even have anything to do with the decision because of a cup.
Basically the world needs to conform to our standards because of a cup.
Yeah. This. makes. perfect. sense.
