I frequently have to remind myself that Machete is not, in fact, some sort of big fluffy bat. Or rat. Or fox. Or some wretched chimera of the three.
But I think he would make a very good specimen of any of those. But mostly the bat.
Oh man. Yeah, true, he doesn't have the most doglike face at all.
This far he's been called a bat, rat, fox, opossum and maned wolf (plus gargoyle, goblin and kitsune), and those are just the ones I'm aware of and remember at the moment. He also gets mistaken for a borzoi a lot these days, which is understandable, they're sighthounds and he's a sighthound, though I personally think the big pointy ears are distinctly un-borzoi-like.
