Rotten white roses
The moment he left, he immersed himself in work. He was working with extreme focus, not allowing his mind to drift back to his thoughts.
He couldn’t allow himself a single moment of peace or calm because that would eventually lead him to the good and bad memories, the words that had been said, phrases that couldn’t be taken back. Eventually hot tears of pain and anger would blur his vision, make his eyes red rimmed and swollen. He could cuss him, hate him at the moment but never gather the courage to keep his self-respect aside (some would say that it was ego, but no this time it was self-respect) and solve the issues out.
They say love needs sacrifice and compromises and its about the choice, for whom you want to go the distance for, but all that love need is…….
The faint tremble of the wards put an halt to his thoughts, he gathered all his courage to look up towards the door. He was standing there with that statement sheepish grin and a KFC bucket.
He took a step inside and said, “That last statement was wrong, we both have changed since that day in the forest, and trust me, when I say, I had never expected you to stay the same and my love for you has always increased. Sure, there were days when I was frustrated or angry with you, but I would never want to have this with someone else. We can be wrong or right, we can be insensitive and hurtful to each other, hell, we can even be on the edge of murdering each other but never in my life I can regret that day or all these years. You’re the love of my life, my soulmate and I don’t want to even try living without you.
So, let’s have tea and discuss how you’re going to apologize…”
