The Rocky Horror Magiff Raff (Riffgenta) fic that emilee-n-furter requested.
I hope that people enjoy it.
Magenta rolled over in her bed. She wasn’t truly awake yet and she certainly didn’t want to be. “Riff?” She muttered softly. Magenta tugged at the blanket that she assumed her brother was stealing from her and it pulled over to her easily. “Thank you,” She said just as softly. Magenta shut her eyes again.
Abruptly she opened her eyes and sat up. It seemed weird that Riff Raff hadn’t answered her. The siblings were often silent but they always answered each other. Magenta looked down.
The other side of the bed was empty. “Riff Raff?” She asked tentatively.
She pushed the blankets aside and crossed the little room. Her dressing gown lay over a little wooden chair. The chair, one of a twin set, sat in front of a table that didn’t match it. There was an empty bottle of wine on the table, a little stub of a candle, and two wine glasses. She smiled softly. The bottle had been a surprise from Riff Raff. An early birthday present.
Silently, she slipped down stairs. Magenta was always afraid to wake anyone in the house. Columbia would be cranky in the morning and Frank would be furious. Riff Raff never let Frank whip Magenta. He always stepped in in her place. Magenta would rather being beat herself. Seeing Riff Raff in pain was a punishment far worse. Truthfully, it was a little selfish of him.
Magenta could smell the familiar sent of something baking. A cake she presumed. The domestic grinned and hurried off to the mansions large kitchen.
Riff Raff was sitting at the kitchen table when the door cracked open. He looked up from his book and smiled. “Magenta,” He said fondly. “Why aren’t you in bed?” Riff Raff put the book down and went over to her. He rested his hands on her arms.
“I woke up and you weren’t there,” Magenta said. “I wanted to come and find you.” She reached out and rested her hand on his chest.
“My darling,” he said hugging her tightly. “I’m sorry. I thought that you wouldn’t wake until morning. I-“ he glanced back at the oven and the timer with just twenty minutes left on it, “wanted to do something special for your birthday.” Riff Raff frowned. He’d hoped that he’d be able to bring the cake to her in bed. She deserved someone cooking something for her.
Magenta stood on her toes and kissed the edge of his jaw. “Thank you, dear brother,” She said softly. Magenta leaned into him and yawned. “I’ll stay up with you,” She added resolutely.
“No, Genta. You’re tired and it’s already your birthday. You should sleep,” He said. Riff Raff stroked her hair gently.
The domestic looked up at her brother with a look that he knew settled it all. “Fine,” said Riff Raff. He kissed her forehead and led her back over to his chair. Magenta curled up in his lap.
“Read to me?” asked Magenta as rubbed the material of his jacket in between her fingers.
Riff Raff picked up the book with a pleased smile and opened it up to the first page. “It the evening on which MM. Debienne and Poligny, the managers of the Opera, were giving a last gala performance to mark their retirement,” he read. Magenta rested her head on her brother’s shoulder and smiled too. The pair sat in each other’s arms for the rest of the night.
