You know, this isnāt ever something I thought I would post, but here we are. This last Tuesday my dad died of a sudden heart attack. With things like this, there isnāt really any time to plan. So that leaves my mom and I in our current state: without my dad, without a huge source of income, and suddenly with a lot of bills to pay. My dad was a good guy but he would be the first to admit he wasnāt the brightestāmy dad didnāt have medical insurance, and americaās health care system is pretty fucked. My dad was also our sole household provider and the money he made went directly to bills. As of right now, thereās a little more than $20 in my parentās savings account. When people die, the first thing that comes to mind shouldnāt beĀ āhow am I going to pay for this?ā but thatās our reality, and something that would tear my dad up inside if he knew what my mom and I were going through right now.
I understand holidays can be rough for most people so Iām not expecting a lot. If you happen to have something to spare I would appreciate it immensely. Iāll even take spare timeāif youāre able to share, please do! It would mean a lot to me.
