Welcome to the Chaos (Please Hold Onto Your Hard Hat)
Hi, I’m Shannon — oilfield wife, mom, overthinker, dark-humor survivor, and reluctant main character of a life I definitely did not storyboard.
If you’ve somehow stumbled onto this blog, congratulations: you’ve officially entered the beautifully feral corner of the internet where I unpack motherhood, grief, friendships, hitch life, and the kind of everyday chaos you can’t even joke about without sounding slightly unwell. (It’s fine. I’m fine.)
For years, life has felt like one long rotation:
Kids. Emotions. Schedules. Grief that sneaks up at inconvenient times.
Repeat. Add sarcasm. Continue.
I created this space because I needed somewhere to put all the things I can’t scream into the void — the heavy moments, the healing moments, and the wildly absurd ones that make me question if the universe is trolling me personally.
So here’s what you can expect:
✨ Honest posts about life and loss
✨ Unfiltered thoughts from the wife of a man who works on a schedule that makes no sense
✨ Mom moments that are equal parts sweet and “someone pour me a drink”
✨ Real talk about friendships, burnout, and trying to grow through what breaks you
✨ Humor dark enough to require a flashlight
Basically: this is my attempt at making sense of life while laughing (and occasionally crying) through it.
If that sounds like your vibe, welcome.
Grab a seat, grab a snack, and let’s try not to take any of this too seriously.
