                  THERE'D  BEEN  SOME  DISTANCE  BETWEEN  the  two  for  the  passed  few  weeks  .  understandably  so  ,  medical  school  was  finally  kicking  into  full  gear  .  but  his  excuses  of  needing  to  study  made  her  weary  ,  considering  they  usually  studied  together  .  still  though  ,  she's  sat  in  her  apartment  ,  nose  buried  in  a  textbook  ,  pencil  resting  on  her  ear  ,  when  she  hears  the  familiar  turn  of  a  key  .      ❝  i  didn't  know  you  were  coming  over  ,  ❞      she  yells  out  from  her  desk  ,  only  to  hear  boisterous  stumbling  and  shuffling  .  leaving  her  spot  ,  she  goes  to  greet  him  .      ❝  please  tell  me  you  brought  some  food  ,  i've  been  starving  all  day  and  if  i  have  to  eat  another  raw  packet  of  ramen  ,  i  think  i  might  throw  myself  down  the  drain  .  ❞      but  as  she  leans  in  for  her  usual  peck  ,  it's  not  hard  to  miss  the  alcohol  on  his  breath  .      ❝  are  you  drunk  ?  i  thought  you  were  studying  ??  ❞

                      HAVING  JUST  FINISHED  A  LONG  NIGHT  shift  at  the  hospital  ,  lennon  plopped  down  on  the  couch  for  some  much  needed  r  &  r  time  until  paul  got  home  .  she's  almost  half  asleep  by  the  time  she  hears  the  front  door  creak  open  .  and  nearly  woken  herself  up  when  she  finds  him  oddly  sniffing  one  of  the  blankets  they  keep  on  the  couch  .      ❝  sometimes  i  don't  think  you  realize  how  much  you  resemble  a  dog  ,  ❞      there's  a  drowsy  giggle  the  surfaces  but  when  he  doesn't  reciprocate  it  with  his  own  laughter  ,  her  brows  furrow  in  confusion  ,  sitting  up  in  concern  .      ❝  is  something  wrong  ?  is  the  blanket  dirty  or  something  ?  ❞

                   A  DAY  OUT  WITH  CARINA  WAS  much  needed  .  the  little  girl  was  quite  literally  the  gladstones'  very  weakness  .  if  only  she  was  aware  of  that  .  entering  the  gladstone  pack  house  with  her  atop  his  shoulders  ,  everan's  quick  to  stop  in  his  tracks  at  the  foreign  scent  of  another  male  wolf  .  his  eyes  narrow  harshly  at  the  blonde  set  of  hair  that  comes  into  view  and  the  laughing  figure  of  his  sister  .  peeling  his  niece  from  his  body  ,  he  softly  demands  she  go  upstairs  and  play  with  arabella  .  knowing  this  was  a  conversation  she  didn't  need  to  take  privy  in  .  there  was  an  unspoken  rule  in  the  pack  .  nobody  but  family  allowed  in  the  pack  house  .  their  sanctuary  .      ❝  am  i  interrupting  something  ?  ❞      arms  crossing  over  his  chest  to  exude  the  authority  that  he  typically  reeked  .  his  harsh  glare  is  focused  solely  on  the  male  ,  despite  his  words  addressing  his  sister  .      ❝  what  did  we  say  about  letting  strangers  in  the  house  ,  sofiya  ?  ❞

                    HE  COULDN'T  LET  HER  GO  THROUGH  with  it  ,  not  after  getting  to  know  her  so  personally  .  he  knew  from  the  moment  they  first  met  that  she  was  destined  to  be  his  .  that  fate  had  paired  them  together  .  yet  here  he  sat  in  one  of  the  pews  amidst  her  friends  and  family  in  support  for  this  wedding  .  when  in  reality  ,  he  wanted  nothing  more  than  to  run  away  with  her  .  which  is  exactly  what  he  had  planned  .      ❝  if  anyone  wishes  to  eject  this  union  ,  please  speak  now  .  ❞      harry  doesn't  hesitate  ,  standing  straight  up  as  he  adjusted  his  suit  .      ❝  i  object  .  ❞      his  refusal  earns  an  onslaught  of  gasps  and  murmurs  throughout  the  audience  but  he  didn't  care  .  stepping  out  of  the  row  ,  he  took  several  tentative  steps  closer  to  the  couple  .      ❝  i  love  you  more  than  life  itself  ,  opal  .  please  don't  marry  him  .  come  home  with  me  .  ❞
