Iâve become convinced that one of the greatest supports to a personâs happiness is passion â whether for musical theater, video games, history, camping, stamps, shoe-shopping, doing nails, teaching English as a second language, or whatever. Now, it might seem that some passions are âbetterâ than others...they help other people, or theyâre of a âhigherâ nature, or theyâre more healthy or wholesome. Maybe. But any passion is a great boon to happiness. A passion gives you a reason to keep learning and to work toward mastery. It can often give you a reason to travel, and therefore to have the new experiences so key to happiness. It gives you something in common with other people, and so fosters social bonds. It gives you purpose. It often has a satisfying physical aspectârock-climbing, fly-fishing, knitting, art, doing nails ;). It gives meaningful structure to your time. It makes the world a richer place. When youâre in pain, it can be a refuge, a distraction, a solace. One of my struggles to âBe Gretchenâ is to identify and pursue my passions â my real passions, not the passions I wish that I had â and also to acknowledge when I donât share a passion. Today I challenge and ask each of you... Are you living with passion??? Drop your fav emoji if you are!! . . #lovewhatyoudo #livewithpassion #livelifeonpurpose #striveforgreatness #passionateaboutnails #selflove #motivation #passionateaboutothers #seethebestinothers #findyourinnerstrength #doyourbest https://www.instagram.com/p/BxSQj6mF_FA/?igshid=126ruj129wyil
