   ever  since  her  dad  and  cal  had  come  back,  her  entire  life  had  become  about  flight  828.  it  was  not  as  though  she  was  not  grateful  that  her  family  was  back,  she  was.  but  olive  hated  feeling  disconnected  from  her  parents  and  her  twin  brother.  her  twin  brother,  who  was  now  almost  six  years  younger  than  her.  it  was  crazy  and  sometimes  it  just...  became  too  much.  ❝  i  know  everyone  keeps  talking  about  how  hard  it  is  for  you  guys  to  catch  up...  but  it’s  hard  for  us  too,  you  know?  ❞  she  whispers,  playing  with  the  sleeve  of  her  sweater.  

it is hard to be understanding sometimes. hard to be the daughter who does not complain, the daughter who just smiles and nods. for a while, olive had been given a reason to be herself and feel everything she wanted to feel. but now? it feels selfish to talk about her shortcomings and trauma when her family returned from the dead. lips part slightly as she looks at lucas, words almost rolling off her tongue but she swallows them down instead. what good is it to get mad at him?

you are such a kind angel and i love you and lucas and we’ll just write all the things with him and my kids, okay?

michaela stone: i know i wrote you an olive starter, but i still want to explore him and michaela just because i think she would be so protective of him.
