How did you get into the HP RP community?
So, everything started when I was looking for reference photos/videos for my Remus Lupin cosplay for my local convention, Shuto Con for those who have heard of it. I stumbled across someones YouTube channel who makes fan videos. I believe it was actually themischeifmanagers that I saw. It peaked my interest so I searched tumblr for anything like it, and low-and-behold! There’s a whole community of it!
Naturally I started off just watching others do it and sending in questions, but after going to my first con, I kind of wanted to try it. So, I just kind of jumped in. I renamed my tumblr account, which I never used in the first place, changed my bio and I did my first online as a young Remus. Naturally, I had no asks except for the ones I sent of my writing blog. Not that it stopped me from doing it again. I was, am, having fun and it’s not like anyone would know I was sending myself these questions anyways, so who cared if no one else was sending them in? But let me tell you, that feeling when you get that first ask sent in by someone else? It’s amazing, I had to stop and think if I had sent that in or if someone else had actually sent it in. I was SO excited.
Though I think what really made it real was when I started talking to other RPers. That first message I got was so amazing, because someone who had been doing for longer than I had was telling me that they liked my stuff and I was just, dumbfounded.
Anyways, that’s my story and I’m so glad I did start doing this. It’s so much fun and I’ve talked/met some really cool people that I’m so excited to work with. ^^
