To be honest I 0 idea how to approach this as a baby (even if unplanned) would be welcomed by Mycroft and the rest of the Holmes clan  (sans Eurus) because it gives into that primeval desire to carry on the family genes and continue the line.

I can see how it could be horrible for the man who shouldn’t be able to carry it but I really don’t understand  how this would be a bad thing from my perspective as you both get a biological child from it without going through adoption or other laughably expensive ways to get a bun in the oven.

The air is very still and tense between them as they sit across from each other despite the morning sun traveling lazily through the breakfast nook.

Breakfast although scarce upon the elongated deep oak wood table remains untouched as one stares and the other avoids eye contact.

It would seem that neither are willing to be the first to break the silence but someone has to do it and unfortunately it would seem that it would be due to another bout of morning sickness.

With very fumbled efforts to get out of the chair and toward the sink were met with lackluster results all over the tiled floor leaving ______ in a crying crouch over the mess and Mycroft following effortlessly behind.

Gently Mycroft helps _______ to his feet and toward the parlor where the suede couch sits and settles him down before leaving to fetch a bottle ginger iced tea.

He waits patiently as _____ takes tentative sips of the bottle and finds some comfort beside the cashmere throw pillows before broaching the subject.

“When were you going to tell me you are pregnant?”

The question alone is enough to make _____ turn both a torrid mixture of green and pale that Mycroft is quick to sacrifice the waste bin to anymore vomit that may come from the unexpected pregnancy but none came.

_______ while accepting the bin takes it and holds it to himself like a shield before answering. His eyes downcast as they refuse to meet Mycroft’s steel blues and body trembling.

“I…I don’t know Myc. I didn’t think I could get pregnant, I’m not supposed to be,” he starts only to sob anew with a greater force.

Mycroft can do as he might to comfort _______ as the wave of sadness overtakes him rubbing his back and rocking in time with his own body.

No amount of words can fix this, no promises or call but Mycroft still has to try.

When ____’s sobs become less powerful Mycroft tries a different approach. “What do you want to do?”

It causes _____ to still and pull away from Mycroft but it does give him a full view of his husband’s face and air.

Looking very conflicted and depressed ____ rambles, “I don’t know-I just don’t fucking know! This baby-it could be everything we want. We wouldn’t have to adopt or anything its already here but if we keep it-”

____ makes a frustrated noise in the back of his throat that sounds like another potential dry heave only to pause at the mouth of the bin. Wiping away the spit from the corners of his mouth _____ continues,” but if I keep it I just may kill myself trying to have it.”

“Then what do you want to do,” Mycroft repeats.

“I DON’T KNOW,” ____ exclaims, “And why does it have to be my decision anyway, it’s your baby too!”

“Because its your body _____,” Mycroft replies evenly as he tries to rub his back in a consoling manner but ____ seems to want none of it.

Shaking away and putting himself closer to the edge of the couch _____ is livid. “Its not fair,” ______ says, “Its not fair that we can have this-this baby but at the cost of my sanity. Mycroft I don’t know if I can do this. This is too much, too-”

Taking ____’s face into his hands Mycroft kisses his forehead gently to soothe him.“Whatever you decide I will follow,” Mycroft pledges.

“But the baby-”

“When it comes between picking you or the baby I will always pick you,” Mycroft confesses pulling ___ closer into the circle of his arms, “but for now we have some time before our options become limited yes?”

_____ nods slowly in Mycroft’s arms with his tears staining the robe that was purchased for his husband last Christmas.

“Then we’ll go see some professionals about our options and take it from there agreed?”

______ doesn’t really acknowledge but grumbles all the same until breaking down into another cry.

I feel like I have already answer this but to clear up any misunderstanding Anon here some stuff I already said.

I like good looking people because who don’t want someone easy on the eyes. There many way to take a rocking body, there many type of women out there.  Mycroft isn’t one for one night stands, hell, even with the escorts that he will employ their services from time to time have some sort of relationship (working or otherwise) to make the whole thing seem less empty to him and more profitable for them.

So if Mycroft is having sex with anyone its never a one time thing unlike something you might have with Moriarty, Sebastien, or Irene. Doing so would hurt Mycroft more than help him no matter how long his last bout was.

It would be tricky territory if it involves John’s younger sister who for the sake of decency will be clocked at Sherlock’ s age (as John precedes him age wise and would still be considered ‘)younger’ than him) due to these factors:

And if she wasn’t too into him Mycroft is going to have a hell of a depression knowing once again, he didn’t live up to someone’s standards to have them stay with him again.

Having her pregnant would be a surprise (he would have probably assumed she’s on the pill) but try to get in touch with her discretely before any of the above got wind of it to go other options.

Mycroft would support any decision she makes on the baby but navigating their relationship will most likely take longer (but don’t fret, it won’t take 9 months!) however it should be grounded out prior to John bursting in with a shotgun demanding that his sister be made an ‘honest woman’ before the Lord.
