The dragon prince is no stranger to showing racism and discrimination with both humans and elves thinking the other is evil.

They already showed how Rayla was treated by a lot of the characters in the show from Amaya calling Moonshadow Elves the worst kind to being chased by a mob of villagers with freaking pitch forks.

So, I think the best way to really delve into the concept of race and discrimination is to introduce a character who is part human, part elf. (I'm hoping a character like this might become a main character with Rayla and Callum like how Toph became a main character later in the show in atla)

In vld, they had something like this. Keith, Lotor, and the generals were part galra. Part galra were considered inferior by the galra empire and other races hated galra in general. Part galra was likely the most oppressed minority. There likely weren't many places a part galra could go. But, vld did not invest into the interesting idea. They simply made some passing nods to how difficult part galra lives are and did not explore the issue further.

I'm hoping tdp doesn't make that mistake. You can already make a few guesses about the lives of people who are part elf and part human. They likely will not have many places to go or have many people that accept them. And they likely won't be very common seeing as humans and elves are separated.
