Picture Courtesy of Instructables. First, thank you all for the wonderful comments that you left about the site, I greatly appreciate everyone’s interest in Girl In a Home.  Now, onto the blank canvas of any room, including a dinning room, the Parsons Table.

Let me give you a little history on this classic home decor gem.  The Parsons Table is originally believed to have been designed by Jean-Michel Frank at, you guess it The Parsons School of Design during the 1930s (however, there’s contention on whether or not versions of this table appeared earlier in the twentieth century).  The design of the table is easily recognizable.  Rectangular or square top, square legs and no adornment is the base the design that is the Parsons Table.  It’s this great modernist design fete, because the simplicity allows it to work just about anywhere.  I’ve mentioned it before as a possible desk (link here) and I remember originally seeing it at IKEA as the go to side table for your dorm room.  The great thing about a Parson table is it can be made with just about any material and go with a number or dinning room themes.  So, below I’ve collected pictures of Parsons Tables in different types of dinning rooms to give you an idea of how to use it.
