Architect Shigeru Ban created the square toilet paper for Kenya Hara’s Redesign Exhibition. Because the tube is not round, the dispensing motion is incremental when the user pulls on the toilet paper. The theory is that this will prevent the user from pulling too much and reduce resource consumption.
