It annoys me when people use the phrase "more than friends" when speaking about a romantic relationship. Like, who descided that friendship is somehow 'less' than romance?
Friendship is not being able to wait to tell that one person about the funny thing that happened at work today. Friendship is exchanging inside jokes and memories for hours. Friendship is giving each other peptalks before an exam. Friendship is coordinating your nailpolish. Friendship is volunteering to help correct your friend's grammar in that horrible wattpad-story they're writing. Friendship is allowing yourself to feel all the feelings in your friend's company, because you trust them.
And isn't that the core? Friendship is trust. It is so much more than just 'hanging out sometimes', and it saddens me when people think of it in that way.
