Never noticed these signs near St James Garlickhythe but for some reason I looked up yesterday after a particularly good lunchtime practice (progressing with plain hunt, practiced dodging to practice speed changes and thrown into ringing down in peal) and spotted these. Garlick and Hythe were two words in 1889 and makes perfect sense given the history of the area (garlic imports were brought up my from the river from the small port, up to Garlick Hill). I like that these old parish markers were put up again when these new buildings replaced the old walls. Does anyone know what HT stands for (the third plaque)? #parishmarkers #stjamesgarlickhythe #bellringing #plainhunt #lookup #lovelondon (at St James Garlickhythe) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByXH1q5Hx2T/?igshid=j0btkqj9b1gg
