#2962 - Parathyginus acuminatus
A tiny bug that turned up in huge numbers one evening in February, when I was running a light-trapping event for the Darling Range branch of the WA Naturalists Club.
The Heterogastridae is a family of lygaeoid bugs consisting of about 20 genera and more than 100 species, that has variously been considered a subfamily, tribe or subtribe, but most recently has been restored to family status. Apparently the male genitalia have been rarely studied in this genus or for that matter the entire family due to the difficulty in inflating the inflatable sections.
I have no other information on them.
