#parallels-ish

This one’s a huge stretch, I know, but once again, I was trying to see if any of Sora and Kairi’s story arcs parallel each other, and this is one I thought of for Re:Coded. This crazy moment with Data Sora, where you would think the craziness would make him shy away from the adventure... but no, he’s good with it.

And here, Kairi’s hearing all this craziness about the KH plot and does it make her turn away from going to the Keyblade Graveyard? Nope. (She actually seems maybe a bit irritated by Axel’s complaining some have pointed out.)

So, here’s a pic of her still going to said Keyblade Graveyard:

And why does she continue on? Well, because she wants to get out and do her part to help, of course:

And maybe partly because she still wants to explore other worlds. And even as bleak as this reason for that is, she’s still technically doing that there.

Also in FFVIII, Squall’s dad, Laguna, and Rinoa’s mom, Julia, had feelings for each other. It didn’t go anywhere. It didn’t have time to go anywhere. And they both moved on with other people (for Laguna, it’s Raine--^_^--and Julia, It’s General Caraway... I forget if we ever learn his first name or not) and had Squall and Rinoa respectively. But Julia cared about Laguna enough--and was heartbroken by him enough--that the musician wrote the song, “Eyes On Me”, which ended up becoming a huge hint (...that has some eye theming in it, of course). And eventually, the song sort of ends up becoming Squall and Rinoa’s theme and is the main one of the game. Here’s some of the lyrics:

You'd always be there in the corner Of this tiny little bar My last night here for you Same old songs, just once more My last night tear with you? Maybe yes, maybe no I kind of liked it your way How you shyly placed your eyes on me Oh, did you ever know? That I had mine on you
