This is awful, I know. That's kind of the reason why I post this.
I gave up on it and will not finish it.
Last night I needed a few minutes to get my mind off work and I took out this piece I started months ago. I worked on first Sherlock's and then John's coat. Then I was reminded again why I put it away back then.
The paper does not work with me for some reason.
The watercolours kind of 'fray' and 'bleed'. It feels like painting on paper handkerchiefs. The details get lost and it looks grainy somehow. Blending the colours is almost impossible.
This is some expensive 100% cotton, hot pressed watercolour paper and I am at a loss what I am doing wrong.
The only idea I have is that (this was my very first try at stretching paper) I might have accidentally switched top and bottom?
If anyone has ideas, please throw them at me.
