He looks like a deer in headlights. He shakes off his nerves and hugs his s/o, but is screaming internally. That same night, his s/o is sleeping peacefully, but Melone is staring at the ceiling, imagining the worst.
Heās supportive of his s/o and doesnāt complain when they send him off to buy craving food; heās more than happy to do it.Ā
But when heās alone, Melone becomes somber, thinking about all the things he could do wrong as a father. He always talked about being a dad, but now that itās going to happen, heās terrified of being a failure.Ā
His gloomy disposition becomes more noticeable to those around him especially his s/o since they are so used to him being affectionate. But now heās rather brief, quick to end conversations with them. When in bed, Melone always goes to bed and falls asleep first.
One night, his s/o asks Ghiaccio if he has seen Melone because they havenāt seen since last night. Ghiaccio scowls, telling them he thinks he knows where he is and to leave it to him to bring him back.
Ghiaccio finds Melone drinking himself stupid. Ghiaccio yells at him for being a shit lover and worrying his s/o. Melone lays his head on the bar counter and tells Ghiaccio all of his worries. Ghiaccio feels a little bad and hears him out. Ghiaccio isnāt good with words but he tells him that tell his s/o about his fears and anxieties since they are partners.
Melone agrees and heads home with Ghiaccio. Heās a little drunk but uses it as an opportunity to open himself up to his s/o. His s/o is understand and tells them they have fears too and how they will both need to tackle them together.
When the baby comes, Melone holds them and when he does, he starts to weep and sob. He comments on their beauty and says,Ā āI wonāt let anyone hurt you. Iām going to be a better parent than what I had.ā Melone worried that he will screw up his child and abuse them like his parents did to him. But the moment he held them in his arms, he knew he didnāt have to worry about that. He would never put his hands on this child, he loved them too much and he has only known them for 20 minutes!
The baby looks just like Melone and is smart like him too. Melone gets them a lot of puzzles for babies and watches them figure it out. He reads to them every night. Heās teaching them so much and they absorb it like a sponge.
Melone canāt get enough of his baby and always volunteers to change them, feed them, bathe them. His s/o wants to spend time with them too! But baby cries whenever someone else has them in their arms. Melone once handed the baby for Risotto to hold and they started bawling. They thought it was because Risotto looked scary, but the baby reacted the same way to everyone even their other parent.
Melone usually has them on his lap when heās typing on his computer and the baby often smashes their tiny chubby arms on the keyboard; Melone thinks itās the cutest thing. Once he was writing an email to Risotto and at the end of the email, it saidĀ āSincerely, Melone and wnjgkiaoeksnā because he let his babyĀ āsignā it.
Baby and Melone have matching masks all thanks to Prosciutto, who found it amusing seeing Melone and his baby stare at the laptop.
