Shameless Self-Plug for Fics
Hey everybody! I just wanted to do a shameless plug post for some of the fics I’ve written over the last few years-- particularly the ones I’m most proud of. I’ve been told that people sometimes get intimidated by the amount of fics I post and they don’t really know where to begin. So I thought maybe I’d do a post with my top 12 fics with blurbs about them. I’ve written most of my fics to be self-contained within the headcanon universe I’ve built but they’re still pretty much canon compliant up to like... 98%, with some divergence here and there that is usually explained beforehand. I’ve also written them so you don’t really have to read every single fic to enjoy any of them! Or, well, that was my intention. Anyways, rambling over, here’s some of my own faves from... me.
I’ll be doing a fic rec post later on with recs from other writers!
And the World, A Little Bit Darker -- Pre-Lylat Wars. Andrew Oikonny hears a rumor that his uncle is alive and building an army on Venom. Now he must decide where his future lies. Status: Complete. Word Count: 25,308.
Burning Stars - Taking place in the days after the Lylat Wars, Burning Stars is a fic covering Star Wolf as they flee from Cornerian forces hunting down the last of the Venomian forces and take refuge on Eladard. But of course nothing goes as planned and Wolf finds himself sucked back into a conflict he thought he had put behind him many years ago. Status: Complete. Word Count: 84,858
Burning Stars: The Assassin and the Traitor - Taking place during the events of Burning Stars’ Chapter 9, this is a side story about Leon and Pigma. I won’t go into much detail as I do not want to spoil anything but this side story deals with Leon and Pigma’s work dynamic. Status: Complete. Word Count: 20,466.
Fleeting Moments -- Pre-Command. Krystal and Panther sneak off to Sauria for a romantic outing. Super fluff with some sensual themes at the end. Status: Complete. Word Count: 3,541
Fragments -- A collection of short stories from the POV of a lot of different characters. From Katt and Falco causing shenanigans on Macbeth to Krystal and Leon having heart-to-hearts late at night, it covers a wide range of genres and also gives some attention to minor characters that don’t get as much of the limelight in the series as others. Status: Forever Ongoing. Word Count: 26,675.
Like No One Is Watching -- Falco and Fox sneak out from a fancy dinner party celebrating the 2 year anniversary of the end of the Lylat Wars. Cute Falox fluff ensues. Status: Complete. Word Count: 3,623.
Liminal Spaces -- Pre-Assault. Wolf and Leon sparring turns into a deeper conversation. Woleon feelings ensue. Status: Complete. Word Count: 6,614.
Off the Radar -- Pre-Command. Panther and Krystal go on a date in Corneria City. Lots of Panstal fluff with a bit of Krystal angst thrown in. Status: Complete. Word Count: 3,980.
Rush -- Pre-Assault. The tale of Fox and Krystal’s first kiss, which happens in odd circumstances on the planet of Fortuna. Lots of Frystal fluff with my favorite trope ever-- battle couple. Status: Complete. Word Count: 3,209.
Star-Crossed -- Post-Lylat Wars. Fox and Wolf wake up in a cell with no memory as to where they are or how they got there. As the two try to work through the last few hours, their teams combine forces outside of their prison to try to break them out. Status: Ongoing. Word Count: 34,618.
The Corner of the Universe -- After being thrown out from Star Wolf, Pigma makes a living doing cargo runs. Lots of Pigma being terrible because Pigma being terrible gives me life. Status: Complete. Word Count: 4,486.
To Ashes -- Taking place after Adventures, this tale is about Fara Phoenix, the legendary test pilot of the Cornerian Army. Having turned down her chance to join the Star Fox team during the Lylat Wars and broken up with Fox, Fara has gone through life wondering what would have happened if she had said “yes” all those years ago to helping Fox with his revenge against Andross. Now older and a bit more jaded, Fara is set to test the new Cornerian ship, the Quasar. But she’d be lying if she said her heart was in it. Status: Complete. Word Count: 15,146.

Shipping Headcanons, Pt I
Fox and Fara are a typical high school relationship that perhaps lasted too long. I see their relationship as sort of a whirlwind that happened over the course of their young years, primarily in high school, where they were figuring themselves out. Fox was young and a bit of a wildcard at times. Fara was a few years older so she was perceived oftentimes as more mature, but suffered from her own wild emotions that caused her to sometimes make foolish decisions. Being the daughter of a supremely wealthy businessman meant that she was used to things just falling into her lap… she expected everything in her relationship to sort of be the same. Meanwhile, Fox was straight up inexperienced and not really sure how to behave in a relationship. This resulted in lots of ups and downs, lots of passionate moments, especially as Fara helped Fox through James’s death. I feel like they were the couple that everyone thought would end up together and then when the Lylat Wars happened, Fox’s main focus shifted and their relationship suffered for it. I think the ultimate problem they faced was Fara having a specific idealistic image of what she wanted out of life and Fox couldn’t really conform to that image, so they went different ways.Â
Fox and Falco have a fairly secretive/guarded relationship.  Fox is initially terrified of Slippy and Peppy finding out because he’s scared of any drama that might bring (accusations of favoritism, professionalism, etc) as well as the shifting of the team dynamics.  Falco is more carefree about it but respects Fox’s wishes.  Falco is more flirty between the two but only because Fox tends to reserve flirting for the bedroom. They steal time together whenever they can– even if it’s at the cost of burning through Arwing fuel cells. Their relationship feels quick to develop, especially at the heels of Fox and Fara breaking it off. Fox initially thinks Falco might be a rebound. But the further they fall into love, the more Fox realizes that no, this is genuine and he cherishes every moment they have together. Falco’s carefree attitude makes up for Fox’s reservations at times. After some time, they tell Peppy and Slippy, but the two had already kind of figured what was going on and no one is upset or anything.  Life carries on.  Eventually Falco’s wanderlust causes him to break up with Fox but that’s a story for another time.
Fox and Krystal feel the most like a partnership where they are both on the same footing in the sense that they both have their respective devastating traumas they’re dealing with and they constantly cling to each other for support.  While Falox was more secretive and maybe got steamier quicker, Krystal and Fox pretty quickly learn to open up to each other due to common interests and that leads to a relationship later on down the line. They quickly realize that they both want similar things out of life and that lays out a great foundation for their future. They exchange culture tidbits often. Krystal teaches Fox how to speak some Cerinian. Fox teaches Krystal about Cornerian holidays. However, Krystal, despite her kind heart, has a stubborn streak, which collides with Fox’s own stubbornness. When they fight, it seems like the whole world can feel it. Krystal clings onto relics of her past– a problem that manifests during a mission and nearly costs her her life. It’s because of her unwillingness to “let go” of some things coupled with Fox’s inherent fear of losing all of his loved ones that she and Fox end up breaking up. Â
Panther and Krystal, on the other hand, is the result of a perfect storm. Krystal is still relatively fresh from her breakup with Fox and dealing with losing her “family” all over again after being booted from the team. Given how she had struggled to find a place to belong for so long, it dealt a hefty blow to her and Panther was there to lean on. She inwardly admits it’s not the best idea to jump into a relationship because of lingering bad feelings. Panther understands this and despite being a massive flirt, ultimately tells her to only commit to a relationship when she’s ready. He’s obviously head-over-heels for her but he doesn’t want to rush anything. Their relationship is a bit more steamy than Frystal– Panther is a pretty big driving point for this and Krystal seems to be quite in favor of it. It is Krystal’s lingering feelings for Fox that lead her to eventually end things with Panther, not wanting for him to fully commit to a relationship with someone who still is working their their own emotions. Panther understands this and though he is sad, he is perfectly willing to let her move on.
panstal pov : they shoot one another down on a lost planet and have to work together to fix their ships and get the hell back to civilization. much sarcasm. very salt.
Alone Together --Â 9 ALW -- Star Fox runs into Star Wolf during a mission and in the midst of the ensuing dogfight, Panther and Krystal shoot each other down over the icy planet of Fichina. Now stranded in the midst of a snowstorm, Krystal and Panther have to work together to survive and make it back to their respective teams.
There’s so much I could say about this. It was genuinely so enjoyable to write. This ship... gets me. Also fyi for people wanting to read, this one is LOOOOONG. But nothing wrong with that because the world needs more Panstal.
they’re CUTE
